CSQTC’s Inaugural PGPP Program Practice and Hospital Engagement Workshop 2013
The Prevocational General Practice Placements (PGPP) Program enables hospital based junior doctors to experience a rotation in general practice as part of their hospital training. CSQTC currently works with ten hospitals and twenty one training practices in our region to deliver the PGPP program. CSQTC recently held a Practice and Hospital Engagement Workshop for our stakeholder organisations involved in delivering the Prevocational General Practice Placements (PGPP) program. The purpose of this workshop was to gain input and assistance from our stakeholders in identifying and prioritising the key areas we need to address in the future to ensure quality educational outcomes continue to be delivered to the many Junior Doctors now participating in the program. Find out more about the workshop here.
Want to learn more about how challenging, flexible and dynamic a career in general practice can be?
The AGPT 2014 intake applications have now closed, however, there are still many opportunities for hospital-based doctors to find out more about a career in general practice. CSQTC delivers education sessions as part of the professional development programs in many hospitals within our region. Topics for these sessions include Asthma, Fits Faints and Funny Turns, The Melting Pot of General Practice, Doctor What’s These Spots and Rural General Practice. These sessions are delivered by experienced, qualified GP Educators and also provide the opportunity for prevocational doctors to gain more insight into the medicine practiced in GP as well as the opportunities available in GP career. To find out if we will be delivering a session in a hospital near you please visit our website
QRME: Grand Rounds: Peadiatrics in Primary Care
As a part of continuing professional education (CPE) for GP’s and ongoing learning for GP registrars, medical students and the wider allied health care team, Queensland Rural Medical Education (QRME) has implementing a ‘ground round’ series focusing on rural and remote primary health care. The next Grand Rounds event will be held at the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba on Wed 19 June 2013 at 6:15pm. This will be recorded and LIVE streamed to the internet. We would encourage people in the local area to get involved in our live audience and participate in the presentations. If you are unable to attend in person then you can watch from the comfort of your home, or with a group of colleagues via our live stream. To get involved in this terrific event, both in the audience or remotely, head to our website and register.
